Sennheiser MX 170 vs MX 270

If you don't like the in ear bud earphone and looking for a reasonable price range earphone, Sennheiser might be a good brand to choose from. They have two entry level earphones at this level MX 170 and MX 270.

You can find specs everywhere on internet so I won't bore any reader with that, and will comment on both earphone sound quality straight on.

I owned both MX 170 and MX 270, and yes MX 270 is superior on specs, but the truth of the matter is that its sound is just little "bland", not bad but bland and it does not live up to the expectation it creates from 19Hz-20K Hz response and 16 ohm impedance on paper.

On the other hand MX 170 is probably the cheapest offering from Sennheiser, but the sound quality is definitely uncompromising  and can complete with the earphones 3-4 times higher than its prise. It really pave the way for the new customers who buy entry level Sennheiser just to get the taste of the brand.

In my opinion MX 270 are probably the earphone you can skip.
